Housed partly in the historic listed building of the Hat and Feathers pub, which will be incorporated into the hotel, the Hotel Indigo London – Clerkenwell will be expanded to include two new wings.
As well as boutique guest rooms, the hotel will feature an all-day restaurant and five meetings rooms in the heart of old London. A hotspot for creative businesses and tech start-ups, the neighbourhood also has good transport links via Farringdon train station.
IHG’s Head of Development for the UK, John Colley, said: “We are seeing strong growth in the boutique market in the UK and this hotel strengthens our position in the capital.”
“This signing will join the newly opened Kimpton Fitzroy London and Hotel Indigo London – 1 Leicester Square to build out our boutique presence in the UK’s capital.”
IHG is growing its Hotel Indigo brand, and is set to double its portfolio over the next few years. It currently runs 15 hotels in the UK, with a further seven in the pipeline.
Hotel Indigo Stratford Upon Avon opened earlier this year, while Hotel Indigo Bath and Hotel Indigo Chester will debut later in 2019.
