Former EY Global Innovation and Technology Leader Ian Spearing has joined Arcadis as Director of Global Travel, replacing Nikki Parsons.
Parsons has moved to trading group Jane Street to head up global travel.
The move marks Spearing’s return to the corporate travel sector. In January 2024 he left to become Chief Commercial Officer for decentralised traveller identity network Travlr ID and to work as a consultant.
“It’s great to be back in a buyer position. I’m very excited by the opportunity to address some of the same challenges that exist in the industry, the opportunity presented itself at the right time and the direction of the business excites me and builds on nicely from previous roles,” said Spearing.
The main focus of his new role will be around sustainable travel, ensuring Arcadis achieves its emission reduction goals, plus expanding the use of data, insights and technology to better power travel managers and travellers, through simpler processes, automation, enriched content and the best tools to be a leader in digital first travel management.
Before joining Arcadis in 2021, Parsons spent nine years as Global Head of Travel and Meetings at AIG and before that worked for Merrill Lynch and Standard Bank in London and Citi in Singapore.
She will step down as Chair of ITM in May and will hand over to Gemma King, Omnicom Vice President of Global Corporate Travel.
