THE SERVICE
I Love Meet and Greet is an airport meet and greet parking service operating services at Heathrow, Gatwick, Stansted, Birmingham and Manchester.
THE BOOKING
I simply went to the website, which asks for the airport, parking start and end dates, and for any promotional codes. The quote comes up immediately and adds an airport access fee of £10 to cover the drop-off charge.
Not having an account, I continued as a guest, providing my email address and confirming my estimated arrival time at the North Terminal, along with my vehicle and return flight details.
I was asked to agree to the terms and conditions and then made my secure payment.
The booking was quick and straightforward, with no jargon. The confirmation details included instructions on passenger drop-off, telling me where I could expect to be met.
For an additional fee of £40 for a full car wash, inside and out, I could have requested valet service while I was away. As I was only on an overnight trip, I did not take this offer up.
BEFORE MY JOURNEY
I was asked to call the Gatwick booking office 10 minutes from the airport to ensure everything was in order. I was told that I would be met at the passenger drop-off point as agreed.
As I had left home in the dark at 4.30am for my 7.25am flight to Amsterdam, it was a great feeling to know that I did not have to stress finding a parking space and carrying my bag.
ARRIVAL AT GATWICK NORTH TERMINAL
Sure enough, a uniformed member of the I Love Meet and Greet Team was standing at the agreed drop-off point at North Terminal, ready to take my keys.
Big Mike (he proudly told me his nickname!) was very welcoming – even at 5am in the morning and asked me to sign his handheld PDA.
He gave me a card detailing my return instructions and I departed for my flight, leaving him with my car keys and taking photos of my car.
On enquiring, I was told the cars are parked at the car park at the Travelodge Gatwick.
RETURN TO GATWICK NORTH TERMINAL
As instructed, I phoned the same office number once I had collected my luggage and cleared customs and was reassured that my car was ready and waiting in the same layby near the Premier Inn Hotel.
It was dark by then, so reassuring to see a uniformed member of the team standing with my car and keys.
After a quick inspection of my car, I was on my way.
THE VERDICT
A slick and friendly service that got my brief business trip off to a relaxing and reassuring start.
Not only did I save time on arrival and return, I also had complete confidence in the service.
I was also reassured by the WHICH? Recommend Provider logo on my booking form, in well-deserved recognition of outstanding performance in customer satisfaction, security, service and value.
The service was thoroughly professional and the staff very pleasant.
