Greengage Solutions has added new features to ECOsmart portal, which helps business travel, hospitality and events organisations improve and demonstrate their sustainability credentials.
It has introduced SMARTscan AI, an AI-supported assessment system that enables organisations to secure Greengage’s ECOsmart sustainability certification more quickly and easily.
Instead of having to complete an online survey to establish their current position, which can be a time consuming process, organisations can now upload existing policies, reports and other resources to the ECOsmart portal where SMARTscan analyses them and extracts relevant data to answer the survey questions.
In testing, SMARTscan completed up to 60% of the survey in a fraction of the time that it normally takes.
Greengage recognises that sustainability is an ongoing process and organisations are also able to use SMARTscan to chart their progress from ECOsmart Bronze status right up to Platinum level.
The AI tool also makes sustainability certification accessible to organisations without the budgets to employ sustainability experts.
Recognising that AI is more energy intensive, Greengage is offering clients carbon offsetting with Carbon Footprint.
SMARTscan is a key addition to the new look ECOsmart portal which has been redesigned to be more user friendly.
Another new feature of the portal is Greengage’s partnership with Replacer, which gives clients access to Replacer’s platform to find alternatives to single use items such as bottles, cutlery, coffee capsules that are widely used throughout the hospitality sector.
Replacer helps organisations to reduce, eliminate, substitute or improve the end-of-life outcome of these items.
Louise Boyse, Commercial Director at Greengage Solutions, said: “Sustainability management has traditionally been time intensive, subjective and disconnected from action. SMARTscan AI changes that paradigm completely. Now, hospitality businesses can move from assessment to verified action in a fraction of the time, with greater accuracy and confidence that their sustainability claims meet rigorous standards.”
