Millennium Hotels & Resorts has received the Green Tourism accreditation across its UK portfolio.
The certification, which was awarded by sustainable tourism authority Green Tourism, underscores MHR’s ongoing commitment to environmental responsibility and sustainable practices.
Nine properties, including The Chelsea Harbour Hotel & Spa and Millennium Gloucester Hotel London Kensington, have received a silver accreditation. Bronze awards were awarded to the remaining nine hotels.
The hospitality group is dedicated to its sustainability initiatives, one of which is the Millennium Green Path. Eco-friendly practices and amenities are prioritised with this programme.
Another initiative is Millennium Green Meetings, which focuses on sustainable conferencing and the elimination of single-use plastics, paperless events, digital signage and the use of glass or reusable, plant-based water bottles for filtered water.
It also promotes carbon budgeting for events and features such as LED lighting and advanced temperature control in meeting spaces to reduce carbon footprint.
The Green Tourism award champions energy efficiency, waste reduction and comprehensive CSR initiatives that drive staff wellbeing and community engagement.
