What did it mean to you to win a 2025 Business Travel People Award?
Scott Pawley (SP): Being named Business Travel Team of the Year was justification of the hard work every member of our team puts in, every day, for every customer and for every trip.
Natalie Pawley (NP): The award has proved to be further recognition of the team’s efforts, hard work and diligence.
How did you feel when your name was called?
SP: Absolutely thrilled!
NP: My first reaction was excitement – immediately followed by nervousness, because the band struck up and I thought we were going to be asked to dance!
What was the reaction of your family, friends and colleagues when you won the award?
NP: To be honest, Global Travel Management counts as our family, friends and colleagues – we were all delighted. Everyone in the company was equally delighted.
SP: We were especially touched by the many messages of congratulations we received on social media and by email, especially from our wonderful customers
How do you think winning the award will impact your profile in the wider industry?
SP: It’s for others to decide how they think of us. But being named the Business Travel Team of the Year serves as a hugely positive statement about Global Travel Management. It hasn’t got me the best table in any restaurants yet; but it’s a very helpful door-opener when we’re looking to talk to prospective clients and suppliers.
NP: It certainly elevates the perception of Global Travel Management among our peers and the companies we work with.
What advice would you give to anyone considering entering the awards?
SP: Sit down and ask yourself two questions: “What are we doing right?” and “What can we improve?”. If the first answer is longer than the second, then complete an entry and good luck.
And if the second answer is longer than the first, concentrate on fixing those issues – and next year, you’ll be in with a shot.
Where do you keep your award?
SP: Unlike our favourite football team, Fulham, we have a trophy cabinet. Our award will take pride of place in our boardroom for visitors to see every time we’re on a Teams call or having face-to-face meetings.
NP: It’s on social media, on the homepage of our website and on every email we send out.
