What does it mean to you to win a 2024 Business Travel People Award?
It means a lot. We were honoured to be on the shortlist amongst such distinguished company and were taken aback by the sheer size and scale of the awards ceremony. There were some huge industry names in the room, so to be an independent hotel in Surrey, it was a big deal for us to be considered.
How did you feel when your name was called?
Surprised! As a small in-house marketing team of two, we were completely shocked to win. We were delighted to be a finalist against some aspirational teams, some of which were from leading national companies. We were busy enjoying the evening and feeling inspired by the great work across our industry, so it completely threw us when our name was called.
What was the reaction of your family, friends and colleagues when you won the award?
We had had so many messages of congratulations and our colleagues said that we have done Foxhills proud. It shows the scale of the awards’ visibility with the amount of people that know about our win. We’d like to thank everyone for their support and kind messages.
How do you think winning the award will impact your profile in the wider industry?
It has already had a huge impact. Our LinkedIn connection requests have never been busier. It has put us on the map within the industry on a national level and was a great opportunity for wider networking. It has put our marketing in the spotlight as an industry leader and it shows that hard work, innovation and passion really does pay off and is rewarded and recognised.
What advice would you give to anyone considering entering the awards?
100% do it. You don’t know unless you try. We weren’t expecting to win but you’ve got to be in it to win it. The win has well and truly positioned us within the industry.
Where will you be keeping your award?
Pride of place in our office!
