Emirates to ramp up UK services

Emirates is expanding services to and from the UK following the establishment of an air corridor with the UAE.

It will go daily on flights to Birmingham and Glasgow from November 27 and December 1 respectively. Both services currently operate four times a week.

Emirates’ services to Manchester will increase from the current eight a week to 10 flights per week from December 1.

The move comes after the UK and UAE Governments created an air travel corridor, which means passengers entering the UK from the UAE will no longer be required to quarantine.

Emirates said this has led to increased demand.

The airline is also upping the deployment of A380 aircraft to four times a day to Heathrow from November 27 and six times a week to Manchester from December 2.

At Heathrow, Emirates’ current twice-daily A380 and once-daily Boeing 777 flights will become four daily A380 services from November 27.

UK travellers heading to Dubai can now opt to do their Covid-19 PCR tests 96 hours in advance of their flight, or to do the test on arrival in Dubai.

Emirates customers who require a Covid-19 PCR test certificate prior to departure from Dubai can get special rates at clinics across Dubai by presenting their ticket or boarding pass.

Home or office testing is also available, with results in 48 hours.
