Expedia-owned Egencia has introduced new training for travel managers designed to help them navigate new Covid challenges.
As part of the Expedia Group Academy, new Corporate Travel Management training courses will share the fundamentals of business travel, from creating a travel programme to maximising travel budget, and will offer practical advice on how to manage business travel during the pandemic.
Alongside this, Egencia has improved its dedicated forum and information hub, Egencia Connect Community.
Set up three years ago, this has allowed travel managers to collaborate with one another, share best practices, and provide feedback on Egencia innovations.
Thanks to new developments, Egencia customers can now ask questions to Egencia directly, engage in topical discussions and join product trials.
Guest travel managers can also access learning topics and will soon be able to access peer-to-peer networking and global travel alerts, said Egencia.
“2020 has fundamentally changed the travel manager’s role and scope,” said Mark Hollyhead, Egencia’s Chief Operating Officer & SVP of Customer Success.
“While cost and the traveller experience are still essential to corporate travel programmes, business travel is now a more far reaching challenge with new expectations that push the travel manager to prepare, plan, coordinate and constantly monitor progress. I think it’s fair to say travel management has been elevated to a level of strategic importance for most companies.”
