An industry drag show, charity choir and pedal-powered phone charging are all part of a focus on “innovation, sustainability and social purpose” at next week’s ITM Conference in Brighton.
The organisation says its SpringBoard Conference on April 28-30, will combine “meaningful social and environmental initiatives” to show how events can go beyond engagement to deliver lasting impact and to reflect ITM’s 70-year commitment to supporting the business travel industry.
The event will kick off with a “one-of-a-kind” drag night, sponsored by ALTOUR, BCD, Front, HeadBox, temoji and Melia, where six delegates will become drag artists at the welcome party.
Stepping on to the catwalk will be Ian Jones at temoji, FCM Travel European Sales Leader Matthew Heymans, Mott McDonald Travel Specialist Mike Heath, Enterprise Mobility Travel Agency Sales Manager UK and Ireland Roya Soleimanifar, Team Supervisor at BCD Travel Richard Thomas, and Wayne Lappage, Yunex Traffic Senior Global Commodity Manager Travel and Expense.
“Reminding us that belonging isn’t about fitting into a mould, ITM’s inclusive focus aims to help individuals feel recognised, valued and celebrated for who they are,” said an ITM spokesperson.
Delegates can also take part in meaningful charitable initiatives, including creating rough sleeper packs as part of the ITM Cares Mission and joining a charity choir established to support those find stability in moments of crisis.
The conference will feature locally-inspired re-plantable wildflower centerpieces for the Gala Dinner, created in collaboration with youth groups and rewilding initiatives to reflect the natural beauty of Sussex’s coastal landscapes.
Seed paper information cards will further extend the environmental message, allowing delegates to take a piece of the initiative home.
Delegates can charge their phones while getting some exercise with phone charging ElectricPedals, while Direct Travel will offset delegate travel through carbon reduction projects in India and Ghana.
