Diversity expert recognised with new Chair’s Award

Carolyn Pearson, Founder and CEO of Maiden Voyage, was chosen as the winner of the Chair’s Award, a special new People Award for 2022.

She was presented with the accolade at the Business Travel People Awards in London last night.

The awarded was introduced for the first time this year and was chosen by the Chair of the Judges, Leigh Cowlishaw, Managing Partner at Black Box Partnerships.

“The award was introduced to recognise an individual or team that has continued to evolve, to make a difference not just to themselves and their business but to the wider industry, trailblazing new ways of working and influencing change across the whole sector,” said Cowlishaw.

“After reading all of the submissions again, reviewing all scores and revisiting the judges notes and comments from the judging day, Carolyn was a clear winner.

“Through Maiden Voyage, Carolyn champions change, providing clear guidance to individuals as well as businesses to make business travel safe in a diverse world.

“Carolyn is such a passionate individual who really packs a punch when it comes to safety and puts herself in the shoes of others.”

Pearson had been voted as a finalist in the category for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Champion. This award went to Carol Fergus, Director Global Travel, Meetings and Ground Transportation at Fidelity International.
