Cutting edge

From pioneering next-generation platforms to building AI-powered operations, Talma CEO Iya Magen shares how the company is harnessing technology to transform travel management

Tell us about your partnership with Spotnana

Talma’s decision to partner with Spotnana and launch it across Europe earlier this year was based on the fact that we could see the platform represents a fundamentally different generation of travel technology.

Unlike many legacy platforms, Spotnana was designed from the ground up as a cloud-native, API-first solution. With consumer-grade usability driving adoption and true omnichannel servicing, it delivers a single unified global platform, seamless integration with HR, finance and risk systems, and real-time data transparency that improves policy compliance and travel spend visibility.

Following its proven success through Solutions Travel in North America, we saw a clear opportunity to bring this to our European clients, enabling them to benefit from market-leading technology without compromising on service or support.

Our first European Spotnana client was looking to move away from a largely offline travel programme and adopt a modern platform with greater visibility, control and a seamless traveller experience.

Spotnana’s intuitive design, flexible architecture and modular approach provided the scalability it needed while keeping adoption straightforward. Combined with Talma’s high-touch service model, our client gained both cutting-edge technology and experienced travel professionals – the right balance of innovation and support to build a future-ready programme.

Why did you acquire Arbitrip?

Talma’s technology ambitions extend well beyond our own client base. Our acquisition of Arbitrip is a testament to Talma’s dedication to not only use technology, but to shape technology.

Arbitrip addresses one of the industry’s longest-standing technology friction points: hotel bookings that are fragmented, impersonal and driven price.

By combining AI, multiple hotel content sources and personalisation within a single platform, Arbitrip enables airlines, TMCs, loyalty programmes and travel brands to deliver highly personalised recommendations, strengthen loyalty and generate new revenue.

The early 2026 launch of EL AL Airlines travel platform demonstrates this approach in practice, seamlessly integrating flights, hotels and loyalty rewards while enabling travellers to earn and redeem points through personalised hotel recommendations.

What’s next?

We are in the process of launching Voya, Talma’s proprietary global agent desktop designed to transform the way travel programmes are managed and serviced.

Voya brings everything agents need into one intuitive platform, unifying global travel content from multiple GDSs, NDC sources and points of sale worldwide. Powered by leading AI, it eliminates inefficient switching between disconnected systems, automates processes and performs quality assurance to ensure the best available options align with client policies and market offerings.

Built for productivity, scalability and simple onboarding, Voya reduces operational friction, improves efficiency and empowers agents to deliver a faster, more consistent and responsive service.

Voya is not just an operational upgrade. It’s a reflection of Talma’s commitment to driving positive change through innovation, creating a smarter, more connected and future-ready travel experience from the inside out.

How are you using AI?

We see AI as an enabler, not a replacement for human expertise. Travel management remains a people-centric business, but technology has a critical role to play in helping our teams work smarter, respond faster, and focus on delivering exceptional service. Alongside partnering with leading travel tech providers, we have embedded AI across key areas of the business to improve efficiency, data accessibility, knowledge sharing, consistency and service, enabling more seamless cross-regional workflows. Rather than replacing human expertise, we use AI to augment it, allowing employees to make faster, better-informed decisions while maintaining high-touch service and delivering value to clients.
