Final preparations are now underway for the 2022 Business Travel People Awards in London on Tuesday September 13.
The shortlisted finalists are keenly awaiting the final decisions of the Judging Panel, which met in person on July 7 to choose the winners.
There are five new award categories this year – Technology Innovator, Sustainability Champion, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Champion, Travel Buyer of the Year and TMC of the Year – plus a special award chosen by the Chairman of the Judging Panel, Leigh Cowlishaw, to recognise a team or individual that has demonstrated particular excellence in their category.
The annual awards, now in their 11th year, will be presented at a glittering evening ceremony with a new format that proved to be such a success last year.
“We decided to make the awards presentation a more relaxed evening affair for 2021 and knew within the first 10 minutes that it was the right decision” says Kirsty Hicks, Publisher of The Business Travel Magazine and organiser of the awards.
“Business travel is such a sociable, friendly industry. We’re like one big family. The new evening format works so well and allows as much time as possible for networking.
“It’s the perfect chance to catch up with friends and colleagues, rub shoulders with the industry’s most influential figures and make new business contacts.
“It’s also a great opportunity for travel companies to motivate and reward their teams, which is even more important right now, especially with the shift to hybrid working and in light of the current recruitment challenges the sector is experiencing.”
The 2022 awards celebration is being held in a new venue – the luxury four-star Leonardo Royal London City Hotel.
Tickets are now on sale for £125+VAT and include entrance to the networking ceremony and party, welcome drinks, bowl food and entertainment.
Generously sponsoring the People Awards this year are HotelHub, United Airlines, Agiito, FREE NOW for Business, Reed & Mackay, Focus Travel Partnership, Sirius Talent Solutions, ATPI, TripStax, and Virgin Atlantic with Delta Air Lines.
