What does it mean to you to win a 2024 Business Travel People Award?
I already felt incredibly honoured and humbled to have been shortlisted for the Shining Star of the Year Award – but to be a winner feels truly incredible. It’s validation for all the hard work and passion that I put into what I do. It’s a moment that I will cherish forever. This award motivates me to continue pushing boundaries and striving for greater things.
How did you feel when your name was called?
It was surreal, as if time had paused. There was a rush of excitement, disbelief and joy (including a few tears of joy), followed by a huge sense of pride and gratitude.
What was the reaction of your family, friends and colleagues when you won the award?
I have been flooded with messages of support from so many people that it feels like a moment of shared happiness. My family, work family and friends have all expressed their genuine heartfelt congratulations. Their support has made this win even more special.
How do you think winning the award will impact your profile in the wider industry?
Winning this award adds a layer of credibility. My efforts have been recognised by industry leaders, giving me huge visibility to people who may not have been aware of my work previously. Winning the Shining Star Award has given me the confidence to achieve even more. It will be a catalyst going forward. I hope me winning this award will deliver a message that you can be anything you want to be. I hope it will help those in the wider industry strive for their personal goals.
What advice would you give to anyone considering entering the awards?
Go for it! Believe in yourself – the journey will be exciting. Just being part of the process is a real celebration. Don’t hesitate or doubt yourself and believe in your worth.
Where will you be keeping your award?
My award is sat next to me on my desk, for all to see. A reminder every day that nothing is impossible.
