Business travellers eat better and exercise more

A survey of more than 2,700 business travellers from across the globe has discovered that we tend to eat healthier and exercise more when we travel for work.

The research published by business travel management platform CWT says business travellers are becoming more health-conscious during trips.

Overall 38% of business travellers eat healthier while on the road, according to the survey. Business travellers in Asia Pacific countries are most likely to eat healthier (46%) compared to travellers in the Americas (35%) and Europe (29%).

“Maintaining healthy habits while travelling is nearing the top of the priority list for travellers around the world,” said CWT’s Chief Traveller Experience Officer, Niklas Andreen.

“At the end of the day, being in tune with what matters to your employees is indispensable for retaining and attracting the best talent,” he added.

The research also revealed that people travelling for work are likely to work out more, with 33% of Asia Pacific travellers exercising more while abroad, 23% of business travellers in the Americas and 21% in Europe.

Meanwhile, only 7% of the travellers surveyed do not stick to health and wellness routines while on work trips.

CWT’s research also shows that hotel exercise rooms and equipment are the most common way for business travellers to adhere to their health and wellness routines, followed by hotel swimming pools, and in-room equipment such as yoga mats.
