The Business Travel Association has launched online courses to help travel professionals made redundant or facing redundancy due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
In the latest phase of its BTA Cares initiative, the courses have been developed in partnership with Travilearn and will be offered at a substantially discounted price of £19.99 per person thanks to the support of Avis.
“We can’t wait to give the travel community a well needed boost by encouraging those within the travel industry to find support from like-minded people, and helping them get back on their feet,” said BTA CEO Clive Wratten, who last week was named the winner of a special new Covid award at the Business Travel People Awards 2020.
The courses have been designed to support colleagues who are looking for employment following redundancy and also identify and promote the transferable skills they have obtained during their career in travel.
According to Wratten, many of the skills of business travel professionals are suitable for roles in other sectors, including recruitment.
Karen-Maria McKenna, Founder of Travilearn, added: “We are thrilled to collaborate with the BTA. Their sector renowned expertise and diligence makes them the perfect partner for our shared e-learning platforms. Their core values are ones that reflect our own, and we are looking forward to helping those impacted by redundancy back into employment.”
