Belfast-based Beyond Business Travel has been acquired by The Human Network, an independently owned group of event management companies and creative agencies.
Michael Gietzen, Chief Executive Officer of The Human Network, said Beyond will form the basis of a new travel division set to “disrupt the industry”.
“Integrating Beyond Business Travel marks a crucial step in our expansion, particularly in Ireland. This is not just an acquisition; it’s the beginning of a significant disruption in the travel industry,” he said.
“With Beyond’s expertise, we are uniquely positioned to transform how travel and event management services are delivered worldwide.”
He said the purchase of Beyond Business Travel, which has operations in Belfast and Dublin, is part of The Human Network’s broader initiative to expand its geographical footprint and service capabilities.
“Beyond Business Travel’s existing operations in Ireland will serve as a critical hub for The Human Network’s expansion plans, including into the US market,” said an announcement.
Edel Doherty, Chief Executive Officer of Beyond Business Travel, added: “This partnership with The Human Network is a thrilling development for us. Leveraging their vast resources and capabilities, we can now enhance our services and extend our reach, ensuring that the integration brings something big and transformative to the industry.”
The alliance brings Beyond Business Travel into a group of event management companies, including Identity, Identity Sports, Smyle, NJ Live, Powered By Humans, Dreamlike State, and The Sports Presentation Co.
Its portfolio boasts significant events and projects such as COP28 UAE and the Coronation of King Charles III and Queen Camilla.
Additionally, The Human Network has major corporate clients, including Samsung, Spotify and Meta.
“We understand that change can be daunting, but we want to reassure every member of our team – and our clients – that this new chapter will bring opportunities for growth and advancement,” said Beyond Business Travel on its website.
“The ethos of Beyond Business Travel will continue to be our guiding star. Our culture, our approach to business, and our commitment to service excellence remain unchanged. The Human Network respects and values what we’ve built here at Beyond, and that is why we were chosen.
“With The Human Network, we’ll continue to elevate our service offerings, expanding our capabilities and reaching new markets, including an ambitious plan to strengthen our presence in the US.”
The deal was supported by Socium Advisors Limited, acting as the exclusive financial advisor, and Knights, providing buy-side legal advisory services, while Raven provided sell-side advice to the shareholders of Beyond Business Travel.
