What does it mean to you to win a 2024 Business Travel People Award?
We’re humbled to have even been shortlisted for a Business Travel People Award, never mind win an award. What an honour!
How did you feel when your team’s name was called?
I didn’t process our names being called out — it took me a few seconds to realise. I was completely stunned.
What was the reaction of your family, friends and colleagues when you won the award?
Simone Coles: The first thing I did was send a message to my three grown up sons and their girlfriends on our family WhatsApp group. They’d all sent ‘good luck and keep us informed’ messages before the event. I think they had more faith than I did.
How do you think winning the award will impact your profile in the wider industry?
We have no idea how it will impact our profile, but we do hope that the whole ‘duty of care/wellbeing’ message and initiatives will spread far and wide throughout the industry moving forwards. That would be our one true hope and dream.
What advice would you give to anyone considering entering the awards?
If you are doing your best to make a difference in the industry, share your story and enter the Business Travel People Awards. Throw yourself into the mix and you never know….
Where will you be keeping your award?
Our award will take up residence in our main London office, to be seen by colleagues and remind them of our ongoing passion for duty of care and wellbeing.
