BA to launch second Pakistan route

By Steve Hartridge, published 16/09/20

British Airways will start flying from Heathrow to Lahore, Pakistan, four times a week from October 12 2020.

It will be BA’s second Pakistan service as the airline relaunched a three-times-a-week service to Islamabad in August. This route was reintroduced in June 2019 for the first time in 10 years but was suspended due to the pandemic.

Flights to Lahore will be operated by a Boeing 787-8 departing from Terminal 5 and landing into Lahore’s International Airport.

In response to Covid-19, British Airways has introduced a range of measures including new contactless, automated features in lounges, a new food service to reduce the number of interactions between crew and customers, and enhanced cleaning.

Rival Virgin Atlantic announced last month that it will launch flights to Pakistan in December. Three new services will link Heathrow to Lahore and Islamabad, and Manchester to Islamabad.
