What does it mean to you to win a 2024 Business Travel People Award?
Winning this award is such an incredible honour. It’s a recognition of the hard work, dedication and passion that my team and I put into everything we do. It reinforces that we’re on the right path and it motivates us to push even further to deliver excellence in the travel industry.
How did you feel when your name was called?
I was completely overwhelmed. I wasn’t sure if it was actually me called up. It was just so surreal – one of those moments you dream of, but never fully expect to happen. I felt an enormous sense of pride and achievement.
What was the reaction of your family, friends and colleagues when you won the award?
Everyone has been so lovely and thrilled for the Partnership Team. We’ve had so much support from the wider business throughout this journey and I could feel the team’s genuine excitement on the night. My partner and three girls are especially proud of me. Moments like this make the hard work and being away from them all worth it.
How do you think winning the award will impact your profile in the wider industry?
I hope that it will raise the profile of my excellent team. It shows that we’re not just dedicated to our work and we make a real impact. I hope it will open more opportunities for collaboration and growth, while inspiring others in our industry to strive for excellence.
What advice would you give to anyone considering entering the awards?
Go for it! Whether you win or not, the process itself is incredibly rewarding. It’s a great opportunity to reflect on your achievements and see how far you’ve come. Be proud of what you’ve accomplished and don’t be afraid to put yourself out there. You might just surprise yourself!
Where will you be keeping your award?
Pride of place in our Manchester Office. This is the first award the team and I have won, so I can’t wait to look at it every day and remind myself how far we have come and what more we are able to achieve.
