Advito’s GATE4 emissions methodology has earned ISO 14083 accreditation as of April 8, 2026. ISO 14083 is the first global standard for the quantification and reporting of greenhouse gas emissions from passenger and freight transport chains.
The consulting division of BCD Travel, known as Advito, has adopted a standard that’s increasingly being adopted across the European continent following the European Union’s new Count Emissions EU rules.
The verification validates the GATE4 methodology, which supports both tank-to-wheel and well-to-wheel emissions. The system calculates direct fuel consumption during travel as well as upstream emissions from fuel production and distribution to provide a more comprehensive view of travel-related climate impact.
“GATE4 being validated as ISO 14083 compliant without requiring any changes confirms that the methodology we’ve built meets the highest international standards,” said Julien Etchanchu, Senior Director of Sustainability at Advito. “This gives our clients the confidence that their carbon reporting is consistent, transparent and credible.”
ISO 14084 is particularly significant as it’s a carbon accounting framework developed specifically for transport. It also aligns with leading disclosure frameworks such as the Carbon Disclosure Project, the Science Based Targets initiative and emerging European regulatory requirements such as CSRD.
