Abby Penston to step down

Abby Penston, CEO of The Focus Travel Partnership, is to step down at the end of January.

Penston, who joined joined the group more than four years ago, is to take up a leisure travel role overseas.

A statement from Focus Partnership said it has been “extremely fortunate” to have Penston at the helm.

“Due to her leadership, combined with the tireless commitment of the Board and the Central Team, Focus is well positioned to build upon its enviable status within the business travel world,” it said.

The Board is actively seeking a replacement and looks forward to announcing an appointment in due course.

In October, Focus promoted Partnership Manager Dani Ives to Commercial Manager.

She will initially share the role with Hazel Dawson, who has begun a phased retirement process.

Both will be involved in the negotiation of Focus’ 2024 airline agreements.

Karina Pomeranceva, who was recently appointed as Focus Events Executive, will take on the partnership manager responsibilities, jointly with Joanne Emerson, who joined as PR and Marketing Executive in June.

The Focus Partnership will be holding its annual conference next week in Belfast.
