TAP takes off from city

Portuguese carrier TAP will begin operating flights from London City Airport to Lisbon from October 29, in addition to its existing Gatwick and Heathrow operations.

TAP will run two daily flights from Monday to Friday and one daily flight on weekends, which are now available to book.

With the new addition to its network, TAP is the only airline to offer the route between the two airports.

The direct flights will operate on Embraer 190 aircraft, with seat capacity for 106 passengers. Flights from London City will depart at 10:20 and 19:50 weekdays, and 10:20 only on Saturday and 19:50 on Sunday.

TAP’s continued investment in the UK market has yielded a 20.3% increase in passenger numbers between London and Lisbon in the first quarter of 2017, year-on-year.

The carrier’s Lisbon hub is a key European gateway to Africa, North, Central and South America.
