Norwegian to add London to Singapore route
Norwegian will launch a new route from London Gatwick to Singapore this winter as the low-cost long-haul carrier expands into Asia for the first time.
From September 28, the airline will operate four weekly flights, increasing to five in the winter to Changi Airport, with prices from £179 one way.
The new route will be operated by Norwegian’s new 787 Dreamliner, which offers up to 344 seats in Economy and Premium.
Norwegian CEO, Bjørn Kjos said: “Our transatlantic flights have shown the huge demand for affordable long-haul travel, so we are delighted to expand into new markets and offer our first route to Asia from the UK."
The new route opens up numerous opportunities for business travellers to access the wider Asia-Pacific.
Stuart Wingate, Chief Executive, Gatwick Airport said: “These new direct flights between two of the world’s top three financial centres will be welcome news for business travellers, particularly at a time when global trade is increasingly important for the UK economy.”
Flights from Gatwick will depart at 10.30 on Monday and Thursday, and 22:30 on Tuesday and Saturday.
