EasyJet set to fly from Southampton

EasyJet will begin flying from Southampton Airport for the first time this winter when it introduces flights to Geneva.

The addition marks the airline’s 139th airport, with Southampton becoming the airline's first departure point on the South Coast.

Flights will commence on December 14 and will operate three times a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays, flown by A320 aircraft.

“We are delighted to be announcing that we will commence flights from Southampton - a new airport on easyJet’s already comprehensive route network," says Ali Gayward, UK Country Manager, easyJet.

Flights are now on sale with fares from £31.99 one way per person. The airline expects to fly over 10,000 passengers on the route in its first winter season.

The airline carries 73 million passengers annually, of which around 20% are travelling on business, and flies more than 800 routes across 31 countries.
