Cross-device travel planning in demand

Business travellers want to manage their travel plans across all devices and stay productive at all times, according to a report from travel management company Egencia.

The TMC’s fourth Business Travel and Technology Global Survey indicates there is an increasing desire by business travellers for cross-device integration and technology access to boost productivity.

Two-thirds of business travellers globally would like to book and manage business travel on every mobile device – not just on their smartphone – and just over half of UK respondents would avoid human interaction on the road unless they having a problem, according to the report.

In addition, 50% of UK respondents would like to use text to update travel arrangements and 41% believe advancements in artificial intelligence will help improve travel experiences in the future.

“We are at a turning point in business travel where standalone products are just not enough,” says Rob Greyber, president of Egencia, the business travel division of Expedia.

“Expectations of global business travellers are higher than ever before. They want instant access to information and management tools on every device, while operating autonomously.”
