BA to launch Gatwick-Canada flights

British Airways will introduce another two new transatlantic routes from London Gatwick next summer.

A three-times-weekly service to Toronto will commence on May 1 and will mark the airline’s first Canadian route from Gatwick.

In addition, flights to Las Vegas will return from March 27, supplementing BA’s existing Heathrow-Vegas operation.

BA has already announced the introduction of new transatlantic services to San Franciso Oakland and Fort Lauderdale next summer.

“Gatwick has always offered a great range of long-haul destinations,” says Sean Doyle, British Airways’ Director of Networks and Alliances, “but adding Toronto and Las Vegas to the summer schedule will take the number of transatlantic routes to 21, making Canada, the US and the Caribbean more accessible than ever before.”

Doyle continues: “It’s particularly exciting to be adding Canada to the list of places our customers will be able to explore from Gatwick, and we look forward to welcoming our Canadian customers in to London.”

The new flights to both Toronto and Las Vegas will operate on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays.

Passengers travelling in Club World will have access to a new lounge area at Gatwick which opened as part of the airline’s multimillion-pound investment at this airport earlier this year.

Four hundred million pounds is also being spent on a new Club World product with an emphasis on improved catering and sleep, and a new seat in the future.
